"I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."
Meditation was wonderful today. Had about eight in attendance. Tried a different technique this time. . .rather than using a guided meditation, we went with a Mantra. Thanks to Frank Herbert for writing Dune and producing the Litany Against Fear. Fear is not a negative emotion, it helps keep us alive. As with any emotion though, in abundance it can become crippling. So. . .we leaned the Litany Against Fear as a repetitive mantra. We took each line and read it. . .followed by the new line. . .then started at the beginning again, and read until another new line. We did this until we had successfully repeated the entire Litany. And then we repeated it in full several times. There were reports that this came at just the right time for many. So as you enter the holiday season. . .when the going gets rough. . .just remember. . ."I must not fear. . ..
